I invite your comments and questions on anything throughout our three sites. The Daily Augur is a new way to engage with a medieval fantasy world. It seeks to create and display the culture of a fantasy world as those living in it would. How often do you read encyclopedia articles about Atlanta? Probably never, but you might read news articles about Atlanta or perhaps a 'things to do in Atlanta' page on a travel site, or a 'cultural events' listing for concerts. Yet all the information that game companies produce about fantasy worlds is from a bird's-eye-view. I have found this to be most unhelpful. When PCs walk into a village their questions aren't "what is the dominant religion" or "what is the governmental structure like in this county?" The questions they ask are: "What rumors?" "Where inn/tavern?" "Buy magic?" "Healer?" "Adventurer jobs?" The Daily Augur seeks to fill in the gaps between top-down views of countries and cities providing in gaming materials and the real[ish]-life lived experiences of PCs. It adds depth. It adds character[s]. It adds interest. AND it does it unobtrusively. A primary goal is for this content to be complementary to your campaign and campaign world. There won't be any cataclysms.
